Escazu, Costa RicaThe witch, Escazu's symbol
San Antonio de Escazu
Escazu is laid out with the highest point to the South and that's where the little town of San Antonio is. San Antonio is definitely rural, almost colonial in design, an interesting place to visit. It is the scene of the annual ox cart drovers festival which consists of a long parade of fancy ox carts from all over Costa Rica. This moves from the center of Escazu up the hill (South) to the plaza in front of the San Antonio church. The ox carts in the parade are decorated with plants, agricultural products and beautiful girls! Pictures of this parade will be put up as soon as the next festival is held, so we have a chance to take them!
